Joe Burrow has done pretty well for himself throughout his football career.
He was a Heisman Trophy winner and a national champion at LSU. He was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He’s a 2-time Pro Bowler. He won the AP Comeback Player of the Year in 202. And he has started in a Super Bowl.
But that 2021 Super Bowl appearance โย a 23-20 loss to the Rams โย feels like ancient history. The Bengals lost the AFC title game to the Kansas City Chiefs the following year and haven’t been back to the playoffs since. Burrow is a finalist for the MVP this season, but that seems far from his mind.
During a round of media interviews on Thursday, the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback joined Kay Adams on the Up & Adams show and said he hasn’t been satisfied since that 2019 title.
“That felt like a culmination of a lot of different things that came together and worked out well for me,” Burrow said. “A Super Bowl will definitely satisfy me.”
Burrow had an outstanding season in 2024; he was the only MVP finalist among 5 players whose team didn’t make the playoffs. The fifth-year man led the NFL with a career-high 4,918 yards passing and posted a career-best 43 passing touchdowns. His interception rate was the lowest since his rookie season, and he also set a new career-high for passer rating.
At bet365, Cincinnati is +2000 to win Super Bowl LX. The Bengals are the next AFC team outside a clear top tier with Kansas City (+600), Buffalo (+650), and Baltimore (+700).
