Joe Lunardi has monitored Texas A&M’s path through the SEC Tournament, and the Aggies have convinced the ESPN bracketologist that they’re deserving of being in the Field of 68. Even after they lost to Tennessee in the SEC Tournament championship.
One day after being on the “next 4 out” line, the Aggies have played themselves into the “last 4 in” group as the final team to make the field ahead of the Selection Show Sunday night. Lunardi on Saturday morning on “Marty & McGee” on the SEC Network said the Aggies would need to win the SEC Tournament to get in, and cited that he wouldn’t be swayed by a snapshot of a few days to change his opinion.
Lunardi’s 4:20 p.m. ET update also came after he noted how Richmond’s upset of Davidson in the Atlantic 10 Championship dealt a blow to bubble teams like Texas A&M. Since it was unexpected, and Davidson was the No. 1 seed, the Aggies, Michigan, Notre Dame and Wyoming would not fare well.

The Aggies on Sunday played their fourth game in 4 days, and the stretch might have caught up to them from a fatigue standpoint. The Aggies missed their first 8 shots, and 7 of them were 3-point attempts.
