Joel Klatt really, really likes Trinidad Chambliss as the dynamic quarterback gets ready to lead Ole Miss in 2026.

The Fox Sports college football analyst explained on his podcast exactly why Chambliss is ranked No. 4 on his list of quarterbacks entering this season. Sure, there is a lot to go on from last season, when Chambliss seized the quarterback job in Oxford and literally ran with it, throwing for 3,937 yards with 22 touchdown passes and only 3 interceptions.

And there were those rushing stats, too, as Chambliss sliced and diced SEC defenses, running for 527 yards and another 8 TDs. Chambliss put up the monster numbers and, most importantly, he helped Ole Miss win, leading the Rebels all the way to the College Football Playoff semifinals.

What can Chambliss do for an encore in 2026? Well, Klatt believes he can do plenty more as Pete Golding launches his first full season in Oxford.

“He’s electric. I love watching Trinidad Chambliss play his position,” Klatt said. “Capable as a runner, but he doesn’t just look to bolt though. So, he’s still going to hurt you with his arm. He can definitely be a threat with his legs, but he’s absolutely capable of ripping it down the field.”

Klatt also believes Ole Miss is fortunate to still have Chambliss in the mix this fall.

“I thought he would have been a first-round draft pick if he would have come out last year,” Klatt said. “I’m going to bet on him, not necessarily on what’s surrounding him.”

Yes, Klatt isn’t as high on Ole Miss as he is on Chambliss himself, but that fact wasn’t getting in the way of Klatt placing Chambliss at No. 4 on his list of quarterbacks.

“This is a bet on Trinidad. Trinidad is a fantastic player, there’s no doubt. Great leader,” Klatt said. “All his intangibles. I’m a buy on Trinidad Chambliss. I think he’s phenomenal, so he’s at No. 4.”

As Chambliss tries to get Ole Miss to the mountaintop of college football, there is also a Heisman Trophy to be won in 2026. Here is what the Kalshi odds are currently saying about Chambliss’ chance, among the other elite players in the country, to bring that Heisman back to Oxford in December:
