FOX analyst Joel Klatt had five SEC teams in his Week 3 top-10 rankings. Following Week 4, two of those schools dropped off his list, but a new team rose to replace one of them.
Klatt released his new top 10 on Monday morning. While the Ole Miss Rebels and LSU Tigers fell out of Klatt’s favor, the Florida Gators rose after their beat down of the Rebels.
“Florida jumps all the way up to No. 8. I love what Jon Sumrall is doing,” Klatt said. “The way that they run the football, oh my goodness.”
Klatt had the Alabama Crimson Tide at No. 6, crediting Keelon Russell’s “scary offense” for some dominant performances. The Texas Longhorns and Georgia Bulldogs were Klatt’s top two teams, with the Bulldogs rising from No. 4 to the top spot following a 41-13 decimation of the Oklahoma Sooners.
“Georgia might be the best team in the country,” Klatt said. “That was a dominant victory over the Sooners. This is a team that I think is going to be very difficult to beat… because they don’t beat themselves.”
Georgia (4-0. 2-0 SEC) hosts the Vanderbilt Commodores (3-1, 0-1 SEC) on Saturday in Week 5 (12:45 p.m. ET, SEC Network).
