Kentucky men’s basketball coach John Calipari announced that the Wildcats’ non-conference schedule would be released later on Monday, and there’s one notable visiting coach coming to Rupp Arena.
UK will host Tubby Smith and High Point on Dec. 31.
Smith is one of the more decorated coaches in recent college basketball history.
Smith returned to his alma mater in March 2018 to become the 12th men’s basketball head coach in program history, after he coached the Memphis Tigers for 2 seasons.
Smith coached Kentucky to the 1998 national championship and is one of two head coaches to guide 5 different programs to the NCAA Division I Tournament (Tulsa, Georgia, Kentucky, Minnesota and Texas Tech).
Smith was 263-83 (.760) at UK, and won 4 SEC Tournament championships.
We are releasing our full nonconference schedule later today. Really excited about what we put together. A lot of great games and challenges for us, but there is one game in particular I am really excited about. โฆ
