Chances are Jarred Vanderbilt won’t suit up for Kentucky during the 2018 SEC Tournament.

Following the Wildcats 62-49 win over Georgia in the quarterfinals of the St. Louis tournament, Kentucky coach John Calipari shared the latest on his injured forward during his post-game press conference.

“He’s still limping,” Calipari said, noting the freshman is trying to pain thru the pain of his injury.

“You can’t play with anyone at 80 percent. The games are too high level (during tournament time),” he added.

With Kentucky’s spot in the NCAA Tournament already locked up, there’s no reason for the Wildcats to risk further injury Vanderbilt in the SEC Tournament. Playing it safe and providing him the rest he needs to get closer to 100 percent seems to be a wise move that Calipari plans to utilize this weekend.
