The bromance between Diego Pavia and Johnny Manziel is well-documented.

After beating Alabama last year, Pavia did an ESPN hit and said he tries to bring the same “electric” mentality to his game that Manziel brought when he lit up defenses as the Texas A&M quarterback. Manziel then surprised Pavia on the show to congratulate him on a 40-35 win over the Tide.

If Pavia is able to lead Vanderbilt to another win over the Crimson Tide on Saturday, Manziel will be able to congratulate him in person.

Manziel was on the sideline inside Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday, sporting a Pavia jersey.

Beyond play styles and unyielding belief in themselves, Pavia and Manziel can also bond over their on-field accomplishments. Both are Bama beaters.

During his Heisman Trophy season in 2012, Manziel led a 29-24 win over then-No. 1 Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He threw for 253 yards, ran for 92 more, and scored twice that day.

Since Pavia announced himself to the broader college football sphere with his win over Alabama last season, Manziel has almost taken him under his wing. The 2 quarterbacks had dinner together this week, and Manziel has been public about his support of the Vandy star.
