New Florida coach Jon Sumrall has been busy putting his stamp on the Gators program since being hired to replace Billy Napier in November – and that includes fashion advice.
Sumrall recently recorded a bit with CBS Sports analyst and former Alabama great Damien Harris in which Harris asked Sumrall to blind-rank five Florida uniform combinations.
Fortunately for Florida purists, Sumrall chose Florida’s classic home look – white pants, blue tops and orange helmets – as his No. 1 uniform combo. Sumrall chose Florida’s all-white combination at No. 2, and a throwback combination featuring white pants, blue top and a white helmet at No. 3.
Sumrall elected to rank Florida’s all-orange uniform combination at No. 4, and the oft-criticized “swamp green” getup that depicted an alligator-skin pattern paired with a black helmet and orange numbers as his least favorite.
“I think I nailed it,” Sumrall said before taking one final look at the swamp green set and adding “we aren’t pulling those out.”
Sumrall’s Gators begin the 2026 season Sept. 5 at home vs. Florida Atlantic and also play Campbell at home the following week before starting SEC play Sept. 19 at Auburn.
