Jon Sumrall provides promising injury update on Eric Singleton Jr.

Despite the absence of Eric Singleton Jr., Florida held on to defeat Auburn 44-39 at Jordan-Hare Stadium for Jon Sumrall‘s first SEC win.
It was slated to be the former Tigers wide receiver’s first game at the Plains since transferring to the Gators. But he hasn’t played since suffering an ankle injury in Florida’s season opener against Florida Atlantic.
Singleton was a “game-time decision,” Sumrall said after the game, but ultimately wasn’t able to go.
“I think we’ll have a real good shot at getting E back next week,” he said, per Gator Country.
Singleton was a key member of Georgia Tech‘s offense in 2023 and 2024, totaling 1,468 yards and nine touchdowns in two seasons with the Yellow Jackets. He then entered the transfer portal and landed at Auburn, where he made 58 catches for 534 yards and 3 TDs.
After the 2025 season, Singleton re-entered the transfer portal and signed with Florida, reuniting with Buster Faulkner, his offensive coordinator at Georgia Tech.
The Gators, who entered the Top 25 after their win over the Tigers, have a massive one coming up at the Swamp in Week 4. They’ll welcome No. 4 Ole Miss as Sumrall looks to lock up a signature win.
