Jon Sumrall and the Florida Gators enter Week 7 looking to end a two-game losing streak after the impressive 4-0 start. The most recent loss was a 38-19 beatdown in Week 6 by a South Carolina team that had lost three straight games.
To make things worse, Florida’s loss came at home after a 28-point loss at Mizzou the week prior.
Florida fans were frustrated during the game, even booing at some points. However, Sumrall revealed he had many critics last week, including his own son. The 13-year-old sent Sumrall the following text after the game:
“I don’t know that this is forgivable.”
Things were going great for Sumrall to start the year, but the Gators have gotten a reminder in the last two weeks about how challenging things are in the SEC. This weekend will once again remind Sumrall how tough the conference is, as the Gators hit the road to take on Texas.
The Longhorns are coming off a 27-24 loss to Oklahoma last Saturday, and will also be looking to exact some revenge for last season’s loss in Gainesville. Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET, and the game will be on ABC.
