Jordan Battle talks about favorite memory of Nick Saban, what he’ll miss most about Pete Golding
Jordan Battle spoke with the media ahead of the Sugar Bowl matchup against Kansas State.
Battle, who will be entering the 2023 NFL Draft, spent time reflecting on his career at Alabama. When asked about his favorite memory of Nick Saban, he reminisced about a trip to the lake in his freshman season. Saban challenged Battle not to get thrown off the tube, a challenge that Battle won.
“Obviously I’m the best tube rider on the team,” said Battle.

Battle was then asked about Pete Golding, the only DC that Battle had during his Alabama career.
“He’s a funny guy, cool guy,” said Battle. “He’s a defensive whiz. We love Coach Pete and he’s going to be a guy I definitely will miss…just the calls he makes within the defense, just knowing how to make the call in a situation. Just knowing when a teammate lines [up] in a formation…the best call for (a) formation, that’s what I’m going to miss about Coach Golding.”
