Jordan Rodgers delivers great quip about why Arch Manning isn’t a lock to be a top-10 pick

ESPN’s Jordan Rodgers had a great moment of self-deprecation while on the air with Stephen A. Smith and Kevin Clark on Friday.
The moment, shared below by Awful Announcing, happened after Smith questioned Rodgers’ opinion that Arch Manning could ultimately land outside of the top 10 in the NFL Draft.
“I’m wondering about you Jordan Rodgers, I really am,” Smith said. “You’re trying to tell me a Manning is going to fall out of the top 10 at the quarterback spot? I mean I need you tested right now. Ain’t no way that’s going to happen.”
Rodgers then pointed out that he has a pretty strong family name as well — he’s the younger brother of legendary NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers — but yet he wasn’t a top 10 pick.
Rodgers was joking, of course, noting that Manning is a much better player and prospect than he was. Rodgers said as much both on the air and in a later social media post.
“Let me just tell you, before anybody else, I was not a bad man, so that’s why I didn’t go [top 10],” he said on ESPN.

Rodgers played at Vanderbilt under James Franklin and helped the Commodores to a 9-4 season in 2012 but then went undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft.
While Rodgers remains skeptical of Manning, college football betting markets are bullish for the second year in a row. The Texas star quarterback is among the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy entering the 2026 season:
Manning and the Longhorns will open the 2026 season against Texas State on Sept. 5.
