Josh Brooks, Georgia AD, updates White House plans for national champion Bulldogs

Josh Brooks, Georgia’s AD, updated fans and media Tuesday on the longstanding tradition of the National Championship team visiting the White House each year, a tradition that was put on hold following the Covid-19 pandemic.
And that may have to hold even longer. As of Tuesday, Feb. 7, Georgia has no plan to visit the White House. Brooks acknowledged that the he was aware of a request made for Georgia to go to the White House, but that he was unsure if anything would come of it.
Of course, Georgia’s 2022 national title team did not visit the White House.
“You know, I don’t know. I did see the request made, and we’re going to kind of just sit and see what happens from there,” Brooks said. “I don’t think I’ve seen a response yet, but we’ll kind of take it day by day and see how that goes.”
According to Jordan Hill of 247Sports, Georgia congressman Earl Carter leads a bipartisan group actively focused on bringing the Bulldogs to the White House.
The group wrote a letter to President Joe Biden that, includes the following passage:
“We write to request you host the 2023 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) College Football Playoff National Champions, the University of Georgia Bulldogs, for a White House ceremony at your earliest convenience.”
