Josh Heupel declines to name starting QB for Week 6 vs. Arkansas
Tennessee made a quarterback switch in the first half against Auburn this past weekend, subbing out Faizon Brandon for George MacIntyre.
That decision worked well for the Vols โ they overcame a halftime deficit and MacIntyre helped lead Tennessee to a 24-14 win over Auburn on Saturday night in Knoxville.
However, head coach Josh Heupel said on Monday that he’s uncertain about who will start at quarterback for his team this coming weekend against Arkansas. Heupel said Brandon’s play was impacted by injury and he may be healthier this weekend against the Hogs.
“Faizon wasnโt at his best,” he said in his weekly press conference, via ESPN’s Pete Thamel. “Dealing with getting injured in the Texas game. It was affecting his game. Weโll go through the week here and weโll find out Saturday.”

Brandon was 3-of-8 for 0 yards and an interception when he was asked to take a seat on the bench. MacIntyre finished the game 8-of-10 for 86 yards while the Vols mostly leaned on running back DeSean Bishop offensively.
Tennessee will look to move to 5-1 when it faces Arkansas on the road in Week 6.
