Three things in life are guaranteed: death, taxes and Josh Pate hating the latest AP poll.
On Sunday afternoon, Pate ripped voters once again for their practices in the AP poll. He blasted them for not using rational thoughts and facts to back their decisions.
“I think we need qualifiers to be an AP poll voter… they would look and they would say, ‘well, we bumped Florida up 13 spots.’ That’s not real logic! That’s… bumper sticker logic,” Pate said. “It’s just off feelings.”
Pate then dove into his issues with the rankings themselves, starting with Missouri‘s presence at No. 25. He also commented on Indiana being above Florida and Alabama.
“Missouri is still ranked. Why? Missouri was 19th based on feels last week. They’re 25th based on drug use, essentially, because I don’t know what on the resume constitutes them being a top 25 team,” Pate said. “You’re telling me Florida’s resume is worse than Indiana?… have you watched Keelon Russell and Alabama… what in the world, in 2026, has Indiana done to warrant even sniffing the same classification of those teams?”

Other gripes Pate had included Mississippi State not being higher in the poll and USC slotting in at No. 18. The Bulldogs will likely experience a Florida-esque jump if they’re able to beat Alabama on Saturday.
Kickoff in Starkville is set for 12:00 p.m. E.T. (ABC).
