Joshua Dobson, one of the top cornerbacks in the 2027 cycle, announced on Monday that he will reveal his college commitment on July 1st, according to Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett. In doing so, Dobson also set a group of finalists: Auburn, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Michigan.

Dobson recently wrapped up official visits to all of the programs listed above. He first visited Auburn on May 29, followed by Texas A&M, Michigan and South Carolina in that order.

Dobson plays for Hough high school in Cornelius, North Carolina and stands at 6-foot-1, 185 pounds. He also runs track and participated in the Under Armour All-America Game, snagging an interception. According to 247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins, Dobson is a strong zone corner with exceptional movement and quick feet.

Dobson is one of the highest-rated prospects in the 2027 cycle and the No. 1 player out of North Carolina according to 247Sports’ composite rankings, which also consider him to be the No. 17 overall prospect and the No. 3 cornerback. As you can see in the post above, Rivals considers Dobson to be the No. 6 overall prospect in the country.
