Justin Jefferson exits Week 3 matchup against Tampa Bay with apparent ankle injury

Justin Jefferson is questionable to return to Minnesota’s Week 3 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after suffering an apparent ankle injury, according to the Vikings’ social media accounts.
Jefferson suffered the injury in the first quarter and entered the medical tent soon after. Following an extended stay in the medical tent, the former LSU star then emerged and walked back to the locker room.
Jefferson is off to another hot start to the year. The former Tiger has hauled in 11 receptions for 147 yards and a pair of touchdowns across his first 2 games of the 2026 season, and he sat at 2 receptions for 32 yards before exiting Sunday’s game against the Bucs.
Jefferson suffered the injury during Kyler Murray’s return to action for the Vikings. Murray, who comes over from Arizona, played briefly against the Green Bay Packers to open the year, but exited and missed last week’s matchup against Chicago. Jordan Addison had done a good job in place of Jefferson, hauling in a long touchdown to put Minnesota up by 7.
Entering the halftime break, the Vikings lead Tampa Bay 17-10.
