Late in the fourth quarter, with less than 3 minutes remaining, Shorter took a huge hit from UCF DB Quadric Bullard while going up for a pass from quarterback Emory Jones.
Shorter was taken off the field after the hit near the Gators’ 45-yard line. He fell to the field unconscious and laid motionless for several moments while the medical cart made its way onto the field.
Shorter earlier posted a positive update on Instagram.
