Auburn linebacker K.J. Britt hasn’t played since a 12-tackle performance at Georgia on Oct. 3. That was a few days before he underwent surgery to repair an injured thumb.
While the Tigers had felt that he would be back before the close of the season, we might have a clearer timeframe of when exactly his return might be. According to a report from AL.com’s Matt Zenitz, Britt should be back by the time the annual Iron Bowl against Alabama rolls around on Nov. 28.
The Tigers have one remaining game after that, against Texas A&M on Dec. 5.
Britt broke the double-digit tackle mark in tackles in both games he played this season, with his 11 stops against Kentucky on Oct. 26 standing as a career-high until the Georgia game. Last year, he recorded 68 tackles and 10.0 tackles for a loss, adding 3.5 sacks. As a result, he earned 1st team All-SEC honors.
Auburn is on a bye next weekend before visiting Mississippi State on Saturday, Nov. 14.
