The Alabama Crimson Tide have been one of the best teams in all of college football once again in 2025, rallying to win their last 7 straight games following a Week 1 letdown against the Florida State Seminoles.
Much of this success has been driven by the Tide’s elite offense, which has been soaring the past couple of months despite some struggles from star sophomore wide receiver Ryan Williams.
Drops have been a recurring theme for Williams over the course of this season, which has led to some heavy criticism being leveled against him. Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer still has full confidence in the superstar wideout, though, and he defended Williams’ work ethic and commitment on Tuesday afternoon.
“It’s just so much fun being on the football field with him every day in practice,” DeBoer said. “He runs his routes full speed. He’s doing the extra work before practice, after practice. No one on our team is ever going to question the work that he puts in, and how important it is to him. He’s just going to continue to attack, just getting better, and I think that’s shown up.”
As of this writing, Williams is currently the Tide’s second leading receiver in yards with 495, and he is also tied for third on the team in receiving touchdowns with 3.
