Kalen DeBoer gives injury update on Ryan Coleman-Williams ahead of Tennessee game
The Alabama Crimson Tide are looking to regroup this weekend following their 20-17 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs. A rivalry road trip to face the Tennessee Volunteers isn’t what doctors would recommend as recovery, but the schedule halts for no one, including Ryan Coleman-Williams.
On Monday morning, head coach Kalen DeBoer revealed Coleman-Williams likely won’t play against the Volunteers.
“[Ryan’s] got to work through an injury with his knee that’s been kind of going on. We’ll deal with that,” DeBoer said. “Got the head issue as well. Gonna address that, even the lower extremity there, this week. Pretty good chance we wouldn’t have him here this weekend… probably be week-to-week after that.”
Coleman-Williams caught three passes for 39 yards in Alabama’s loss to Georgia. He leads the Crimson Tide with 23 receptions, 415 yards and four touchdowns through six weeks. In his stead, Lotzeir Brooks and Rico Scott should see more targets from Keelon Russell.
Tennessee’s defense has been stout this year. The Vols’ SEC opponents have scored just 17 points per game against them so far in 2026.
DeBoer and Co. will have to scheme some things up in order to top that mark when the Crimson Tide and Volunteers kick off at 3:30 p.m. E.T. on Saturday (ABC).
