The No. 8 Alabama Crimson Tide may have escaped their matchup against the No. 14 Missouri Tigers with a 27-24 victory, but that doesn’t mean they left Columbia unscathed.

A pair of Alabama offensive players were knocked out of the game after taking massive hits, with freshman wideout Derek Meadows exiting after taking a scary hit late in the first quarter, and senior tailback Jam Miller also being forced out after being tackled along the sideline early in the fourth.

In his postgame press conference, DeBoer gave an injury update on both players following the Tide’s massive win, confirming that they both suffered concussions as a result of the hits they took.

It’s unclear if either player will be forced to miss time, but losing Miller would certainly be a massive blow for this Alabama offense heading into a Week 8 meeting against the No. 12 Tennessee Volunteers.

Miller missed the Tide’s first 3 games this season while recovering from collar bone injury he suffered during fall camp, and his absence was definitely felt in Alabama’s Week 1 loss against the Florida State Seminoles.

The Tide would love to avoid a similar situation against the Vols, so it will be interesting to see what his status ends up being come kickoff next Saturday.
