The Alabama Crimson Tide didn’t do it in dominant fashion, but they got back to winning ways in Week 8. Their 31-20 victory over the Texas A&M Aggies increased their College Football Playoff odds to 62.8% in ESPN’s Football Power Index. Those chances could come crashing down, though, in what amounts to a de-facto playoff game vs. LSU following the Tide’s Halloween bye.
Following Alabama’s triumph, head coach Kalen DeBoer updated reporters on left guard Williams Sanders. The junior offensive lineman suffered a lower-leg ailment vs. Texas A&M that, according to DeBoer, will likely cause him to miss the matchup with the Tigers.
“[Sanders is] probably the one guy that could be out for a little bit,” DeBoer said. “We’ll kind of see more tomorrow. But maybe not a week or two, might be a couple more than that.”
While Sanders could be absent in Baton Rouge, DeBoer anticipates some of the Crimson Tide’s other hurt players to suit up in Baton Rouge. Running back EJ Crowell, center Racin Delgatty and nose tackle Terrance Green are all on the mend. Their returns would be huge for Alabama (6-2, 4-2 SEC), who faces LSU (6-2, 3-2 SEC) in Death Valley on Nov. 7.
