There’s plenty of pressure mounting on Kalen DeBoer and Alabama as they head to Athens for this Saturday night’s clash with Georgia.

With a loss to Florida State already on their résumé, the Crimson Tide have little room for error as they enter SEC play clinging to hopes of reaching the recently elusive College Football Playoff. A date with the Bulldogs is a prove-it game for DeBoer, and a loss would flip his hot seat right back on.

And when a matchup is as finely examined as Alabama-Georgia is, everything is taken into account.

Even the coach’s attire.

DeBoer was recently asked about his history of wearing a black hoodie while patrolling the sidelines, and he revealed whether it’d be making an appearance under the lights in Athens. Per On3’s Charlie Potter:

“A couple of players have me aware of that [record wearing black], and my family,” DeBoer said. “With it being a night game and everything, yeah, it’ll probably be that.”

Alabama fans likely care little about DeBoer’s wardrobe and more about his team’s chances at winning this weekend. The Crimson Tide faithful went into hysterics following the loss to Florida State, but dominant wins over Louisiana-Monroe and Wisconsin have calmed the waters for the time being.

But a loss to Georgia would put Alabama at .500 entering October, a reality Alabama’s program is unfamiliar with and what would be a new low-point in its recent history.

Thus, if the Crimson Tide do come out on the wrong end, perhaps DeBoer will use his attire like camouflage and escape into the night, away from the enraged Bama fans in hot pursuit.
