The Alabama Crimson Tide football team is reeling. Kalen DeBoer‘s program has lost back-to-back games for the first time since 2007 and appears to be on the outside looking in at the College Football Playoff bracket.

The fans in Tuscaloosa need a victory in Week 8 to (temporarily) quell their season-long concerns. On Monday, DeBoer provided updates on players who will be key to earning that win against the Texas A&M Aggies. For now, EJ Crowell and Zabien Brown, among others, are dealing with lower leg injuries.

“[Zabien Brown has a] lower leg injury. [We’ll] evaluate [him] throughout the week what he looks like,” DeBoer told reporters. “[EJ Crowell also has a] lower leg injury… we’ll see where he’s at in the next couple days. I would expect him to practice early in the week.”

Crowell leads the Crimson Tide in yards per carry (6.8) this season, but has the fourth-most rushing attempts of any Alabama player. Brown paces the team in passes defended (4) and has frequently been mocked as a first-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Alabama last lost three consecutive games when Louisiana-Monroe dealt the Crimson Tide a 21-14 defeat as part of a four-game skid, also in 2007. Kalen DeBoer is in a must-win situation on Saturday vs. the Texas A&M Aggies (3:30 p.m. ET, ABC).
