Facing some levels of off-field pressure heading into the 2026 campaign, Kalen DeBoer and Alabama have done well to handle that in starting 5-0 overall and 2-0 in SEC play this season.

But while the atmosphere around the program is largely positive following a dominant road win over Mississippi State, there are still some issues for the team to fix as it gears up for a date with Georgia on Saturday.

One of those concerns is ball security, specifically when it comes to running back Daniel Hill. The talented junior tailback fumbled the pigskin twice against the Bulldogs on Saturday, with one of them being recovered by the Bulldogs.

Following the victory, DeBoer addressed Hill’s performance and reaffirmed his confidence in the running back’s abilities.

“Yeah, Daniel just needs to keep playing and keep going about it,” DeBoer said in his postgame press conference. “Things happen. You know, he put the ball on the ground, but he’s a guy we got a lot of trust in. Not going to lose trust in him.”

Hill finished with just 5 carries for 22 yards, although he still leads the team overall with 247 rushing yards on the season. He’ll likely eclipse his 2025 mark of 284 yards within the near future.
