Kane Wommack and the Alabama Crimson Tide picked up a huge victory on Saturday night, as they knocked off LSU, 31-13, in Baton Rouge. It was an extremely competitive game for much of the afternoon, as the Crimson Tide were even trailing 13-10 with 2:20 remaining in the second quarter.
LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt threw for 380 yards, but he didn’t finish with a touchdown and threw an interception. The Crimson Tide got multiple stops in the red zone, as well as crucial fourth-down stops throughout the game. All through the night, Wommack was seen celebrating big plays, and on one play, he had an incredible celebration with another assistant.
This wasn’t necessarily a College Football Playoff eliminator, but the emotions and energy Alabama played with throughout this game showed how big of a game it was. The Crimson Tide heard all week about how they didn’t belong as a top five team, and they played like a team that was looking to prove people wrong.
The defense was flying around the entire game, and delivered some huge hits throughout the game.
This was a game that Kalen DeBoer and the entire program needed, and now the Crimson Tide are set up to make a legitimate run at making the CFP.
