Kansas State QB Avery Johnson’s father, brother release statement apologizing for postgame fight in Ireland

Kansas State QB Avery Johnson’s father and brother have released a statement on their postgame fight in Ireland. Mark and Anthony Johnson publicly apologized to Kansas State University as well as the school’s alumni and fans.
Tim Fitzgerald of 247Sports site GoPowercat reported there was a postgame incident involving Mark Johnson, father of Avery Johnson. Fitzgerald noted that the physical conflict was believed to be involve Johnson’s eldest son, Anthony. A video of the fight made the rounds on social media.
Mark and Anthony Johnson released a statement Saturday to On3:
We sincerely apologize for our actions following yesterday’s football game in Ireland. Senseless bickering escalated into an unnecessary fight. We have resolved our differences and take full responsibility for our actions. We have apologized to our immediate and extended family, and now extend our apologies to Kansas State University, its alumni, and fans. We regret this incident, have learned from it, and are committed to ensuring it doesn’t happen again. Please accept our deepest apologies.
As far as the game in Dublin, No. 17 Kansas State fell to No. 22 Iowa State 24-21. Avery Johnson was 21-of-30 passing for 273 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also had 8 rushes for 21 yards and a TD.
