Keelon Russell scores 5 touchdowns to fuel blowout win over South Carolina

The Alabama Crimson Tide just keep on rolling.
Alabama is now 4-0 on the season after winning its 2nd SEC contest of the year, downing South Carolina 49-18 in a game that was never close. Why was it never close? Because Alabama has Keelon Russell, and South Carolina doesn’t.
Russell is growing as a legit college quarterback right before our eyes. The sophomore QB threw for 4 touchdowns and rushed for another while completing 21 of his 27 passing attempts for a career-high 365 yards. Russell also rushed for 35 yards, meaning he put up 400 yards of total offense in what went down as the best game of his college career. So far.
Russell set the tone with this 75-yard touchdown connection with Lotzeir Brooks. This ball was placed perfectly in stride — anywhere else and this play might not score:
It was a clean game for the Crimson Tide defense, too. South Carolina finished Saturday just 3-of-14 on 3rd down (the Gamecocks finished 3-for-5 on 4th down, however), and the Tide defense forced a pair of turnovers — 1 interception and 1 fumble recovery.
