Former Alabama and Kentucky wide receiver Kendrick Law suffered a torn ACL during practice for the Detroit Lions this week, according to Lions head coach Dan Campbell. The rookie receiver will miss the entire 2026 season.

Law was selected 168th overall in the 5th round by the Lions this past April and was expected to compete for a reserve role on the team in an underrated WR room, which also includes former Alabama WR Jameson Williams.

The injury was non-contract.

“Hate it for him,” Campbell said Thursday. “The kid was doing a good job. But thatโ€™s โ€“ itโ€™s part of it. Itโ€™s a harsh reality. Heโ€™ll get it out of the way early, have his whole career in front of him.”

Law spent 3 seasons at Alabama before transferring to Lexington to star for the Wildcats. He posted the best season of his college career in year 4, totaling 540 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns — both more than his 3 previous years at Alabama combined.

While his numbers don’t exactly pop off the screen, Law was incredibly fun to watch at Kentucky and is a real threat with the ball in his hands. Now, though, he’ll have to wait to make his pro debut in 2027.
