Kenny Dillingham explains how Arizona State will prepare for Marcel Reed: ‘Pray’

Kenny Dillingham and the Arizona State Sun Devils were able to get a 70-7 win against Morgan State, but the head coach knows a tougher challenge is looming in Week 2.
The Sun Devils will travel to College Station to take on a Texas A&M Aggies team that is coming off a College Football Playoff appearance last year. A key reason is Marcel Reed, who is one of the most explosive quarterbacks in the country.
Dillingham was asked by the media on Monday about the challenge of stopping Reed, the coach gave a simple, but funny answer.
“Pray…” Dillingham joked. “He’s a really good player; he is really athletic. What people don’t give him credit for is he has an unbelievable touch on his deep ball and his intermediate passing game… it looks like [how] it’s supposed to look.”
Reed puts so much pressure on opposing defenses. As Dillingham mentioned, he is known as an elite athlete who can get outside the pocket and make a big play with his legs. However, he isn’t a one-trick pony and he has the ability to beat you with his arm as well.
The Sun Devils have a very tough next two games, as they travel to London in Week 3 to take on Kansas. The early part of the season is a lot about learning what type of team you have, and Dillingham and his guys will learn a lot in the next 12 days.
