Kentucky already has a top quarterback recruit for its 2027 recruiting class, with Jake Nawrot locked in since April. Now, Will Stein will look to close the deal for a talented 2028 signal-caller.
Josiah Boyd, the No. 8 QB in his class according to 247Sports’ Composite, has set his decision date for Nov. 23, according to Blair Angulo of 247Sports. Boyd will choose between Oregon, UCLA, and the Wildcats.
Kentucky offered Boyd relatively recently โ in August, to be exact. That was three months after Oregon and UCLA extended offers of their own.
With Stein overseeing a Wildcat program that’s now 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the SEC after an overtime win against LSU, the momentum is continuing to shift in Lexington. Stein’s track record with quarterbacks speaks for itself, too, with Kenny Minchey developing into a talented player under the watchful eye of the coach who developed players like Bo Nix, Dillon Gabriel, and Dante Moore.
As a junior at Vista del Lago High School in California, Boyd has thrown for 1,237 yards, 15 touchdowns, and just three interceptions through eight games. He’s also run for 267 yards and eight touchdowns on 55 carries.
Take a look at some of Boyd’s high school highlights below, from Hudl:
