The Kentucky Wildcats are reintroducing their “Power K” logo this weekend vs. the LSU Tigers. Fans have clamored for the refreshed look for years. On Wednesday morning, they got their first glimpse at the concept.

White helmets with two blue stripes and a blue logo. Blue jerseys with three stripes on the shoulder pads, the middle of which says “CATS” in blue block lettering. Round it out with what pants featuring the blue logo on the right hip, and you have a look that Big Blue Nation is drooling over, whether you’re a fan or program legend Jacob Tamme.

The Wildcats rocked the “Power K” from 1975-1991. One of the best teams in Kentucky history, the 1977 bunch that went 10-1, donned the uniform. The Wildcats weren’t often tremendous throughout the tenure of the Power K beyond the 1977 campaign, but it’s an iconic branding that the fanbase has latched on to and wanted to revitalize.

With any luck, the Power K will serve as an emblem of consistency for the Will Stein Era. Kentucky’s head coach has said the look will be part of the school’s rotation going forward. The Wildcats and Tigers kick off at 7:00 p.m. E.T. on Saturday night (ESPN).
