Kentucky has been in some wild games over the last few weeks, and a matchup against Vanderbilt could have been problematic for the Wildcats.
Early in that game, that appeared to be the case, but in the end, the Wildcats pulled away for the 34-17 victory to move to 7-1 on the season.
The Commodores took a 10-0 lead early in the second quarter, but it was all Wildcats the rest of the way.

Quarterback Kenny Minchey had another strong game, going 19-of-26 for 203 yards and one touchdown. Freshman wide receiver Kenny Darby was his favorite target in the game, finishing with four catches for 71 yards.
The offense did its job, and the defense was dominant for much of the night. The Commodores finished the game with only 15 rushing yards on 17 carries.
It wasn’t the prettiest but the Wildcats kept rolling on Saturday night under first-year coach Will Stein. Perhaps no team in the SEC could use a bye more than the Wildcats, and that is exactly what they get in Week 9.
The rest comes at a perfect time, as the Wildcats will be on the road to take on Tennessee on Nov. 7.
