Kentucky quarterback Cutter Boley to enter transfer portal, per report
Kentucky quarterback Cutter Boley has reportedly decided to enter the transfer portal.
That news was first reported by On3’s Steve Wiltfong and Pete Nakos on Thursday afternoon. Boley took over as Kentucky‘s starting quarterback midway through the 2025 season and led the Wildcats to wins over Auburn and Florida.
Now, the former 4-star quarterback out of Lexington will be headed elsewhere in 2026:
Boley finished the year with a 66% completion percentage along with 15 touchdown passes and 12 interceptions. He averaged 7.2 yards per attempt.
New Kentucky coach Will Stein is currently serving as Oregon’s offensive coordinator. With Boley headed elsewhere, Stein and his staff will be tasked with bringing in a new quarterback for the 2026 season.
One potential option for Kentucky is former 4-star recruit Austin Novosad, who has been Dante Moore’s backup at Oregon this season. Novosad is expected to enter the portal when it officially opens on Friday.
Boley signed with Kentucky as a 4-star prospect in the class of 2024. He was the No. 24 quarterback in the country for his cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings. Boley will have 3 years of eligibility remaining.
