Kentucky schedules 2032 non-conference matchup against MAC program

The 2026 college football season is well underway, but that doesn’t mean programs across the country are focused solely on the current campaign.
The sheer scale of big-time college football necessitates a forward-looking approach that allows athletic departments to plan for potential matchups years in advance, especially when it comes to non-conference opponents.
The Kentucky Wildcats illustrated this reality on Thursday afternoon, when FBS Schedules announced on X that the Wildcats had officially added MAC opponent Toledo to their 2032 non-conference slate.
The matchup may be 6 years away, but schools routinely schedule these out-of-conference clashes well in advance to ensure they have time to line everything up financially and logistically before the game.
This will be the third time in program history that the Cats will host the Rockets, with the most recent coming last season when Kentucky narrowly avoided a devastating Week 1 upset in Lexington. Toledo also made the trek down to the Bluegrass State for Week 1 of the 2019 campaign, a game that the Wildcats won 38-24.
With their annual showdown against in-state ACC rival Louisville also penciled in, the Wildcats now have just 1 final non-conference opponent to add to their 2032 slate.
