Kewan Lacy is inevitable, so of course he was the one to put Ole Miss in the end zone for the first time in 2026. The Rebels lead No. 24 Louisville 10-3 following a disastrous sequence for the Cardinals at the start of the 2nd quarter.

Lacy’s touchdown was set up by a high snap on a Louisville punt attempt, which put the Rebels at the 11-yard line. Four plays later, Lacy bullied his way into the end zone from 1 yard out for his first touchdown of many to come.

Check it out:

If we’re calling a spade a spade here, it’s been a bit of a rough start for the Ole Miss offense — it’s just been that much worse for Louisville. Cardinals QB Lincoln Kienholz missed a wide-open receiver that would have scored just a few plays before the high snap set Ole Miss up deep in Louisville territory. If that throw hits, we’re likely looking at a 10-3 ballgame in the other direction.

Lacy is going to be leaned on a lot in this one if the first 20 minutes are any indication. Looking to prove he’s indeed the best running back in the nation, Lacy has already totaled 9 carries for 34 yards with the above touchdown.

Buckle up, folks. This is shaping up to be a good one.
