Kirby Smart is not wasting time this offseason in building Georgia’s 2026 recruiting class.
On Thursday night, the head coach conducted an in-home visit with one of the top prospects in the class in quarterback Jared Curtis. The young QB posted a picture of himself with the coach on social media.
“Great in home visit tonight!” said Curtis.
The 247Sports Composite ranking rates Curtis as 5-star prospect, the No. 2 QB, and the No. 1 player out of Tennessee in the 2026 class. In addition to Georgia, Curtis has received heavy interest from Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, and Oregon, among others.
Curtis had an exceptional season in 2024 for Nashville Christian Academy. The QB threw for 2,830 yards with 40 touchdowns and just 3 interceptions. Curtis also rushed for 637 yards and 18 scores on the ground while leading his team to a 12-1 overall record and a 5-0 mark in district play.
As a prospect, Curtis receives high praise for his arm strength and his mobility even with a bigger frame. The QB’s well-rounded skillset should make him a great fit in almost any college offense, especially with his ability to scramble for extra yardage.
Smart has so far landed commitments from 4 players in the 2026 class and the Bulldogs currently have the No. 15 class. The class is so far headlined by 3 4-star prospects, including wide receiver Vance Spafford and tight end Lincoln Keyes.
Smart has yet to land a QB for 2026, so Curtis would be a huge get.
