Kirby Smart, Dan Lanning meet on field before Georgia-Oregon showdown

Kirby Smart and Dan Lanning were the architects of Georgia’s historic defense in 2021, with Smart leading the charge as the head coach and Lanning serving as defensive coordinator.
But, this year, Lanning is the head coach at Oregon where, interestingly enough, he’ll face his old boss in his first game with the Ducks.
After winning a national title together last year, it’s clear there’s no bad blood between Smart and Lanning. Before Saturday afternoon’s game in Atlanta, Lanning and his former boss were all smiles during their pregame meeting:

Lanning and Smart accomplished great things together in Athens. But, once kickoff arrives in Atlanta, both will be hungry to start the year 1-0.
Saturday afternoon’s Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game is set to start at 3:30 p.m. Eastern time and can be seen on ABC.
