Less than a month after Georgia C Warren Ericson suffered a hand injury, coach Kirby Smart offered a very optimistic update about Ericson’s pending availability.
The injury to his left hand, the one he uses to snap the ball, happened about 3 weeks ago, but recently, he has appeared on the road back to action.
“Warren Ericson is doing awesome,” Smart said. “We’re fired up about Warren Ericson. He’s been able to practice for the last 2 weeks and he’s done an excellent job.”
However, Smart did not expound on Ericson’s ability to start this week against Clemson. But it’s notable that Ericson is the only lineman on Georgia’s roster with starting experience at center. He started in place of Trey Hill for the final 2 games of last season after Hill had arthroscopic surgery on both knees. Ericson played guard late last season including in the Sugar Bowl win over Baylor at right guard.
