Kirk Herbstreit, Chris Fowler rip Colin Simmons for ‘vulgar’ celebration after sack vs. Tennessee

Kirk Herbstreit had Chris Fowler had a strong reaction to Colin Simmons’ celebration after the Texas defensive end recorded a sack of Arch Manning in the second quarter.
Simmons, for some reason, pretended to urinate after the play, or, as the referee termed it, “simulating using the restroom.” It’s not quite Elijah Moore in the Iron Bowl, but it still wasn’t a very smart thing to do, considering it would have gotten the defense off the field.
Herbstreit and Fowler made no secret of how they felt about the penalty.
“It’s just an absolute idiotic move by Colin Simmons doing that. (He’s) supposed to be one of the leaders of this defense,” Herbstreit said.
“Yeah, it’s idiotic, and it doesn’t get much more vulgar, either,” Fowler added.
Outside of that, it was a phenomenal day for Simmons, who recorded a program-record five sacks. It was his fifth career game with multiple sacks and his first multiple-sack game since totaling 3.0 sacks against Kentucky on October 18.
The Longhorns didn’t make it easy on themselves late in the game, but ultimately held on for a 20-17 win at Neyland Stadium to improve to 4-0 on the season. They finished the game with 10 sacks. Tennessee, meanwhile, dropped to 3-1.
