Kirk Herbstreit cracks up at LSU cheerleader struggling to keep up with pushups as Tigers score 51

The marquee matchup of the first official Saturday of the 2026 college football season turned out to be a one-sided beatdown as the LSU Tigers dominated the Clemson Tigers 51-10.
In the first game of Lane Kiffin‘s tenure in Baton Rouge, LSU essentially did whatever they wanted to Clemson, and the final score reflected that reality.
Star quarterback Sam Leavitt and the rest of the LSU offense put up so many points that the cheerleading squad was struggling to keep up with their celebratory push-ups, a visual that got a laugh out of ESPN commentator Kirk Herbstreit.
The ESPN crew actually caught up to the male cheerleader Herbstreit got a chuckle out of, and the poor guy looked absolutely exhausted when talking to sideline reporters Holly Rowe and Molly McGrath.
As tough as all those pushups probably were, the performance from the football team was certainly worth the exercise, as the Bayou Bengals put on one of the most dominant showings against a Power 4 opponent in recent memory.
If Leavitt, Kiffin, and the rest of the Tigers’ offense can maintain this level of play over the course of the season, then the LSU cheerleaders will be in for some serious Saturday workouts.
