Kirk Herbstreit was on the call for the huge matchup in Week 3 between Ole Miss and LSU. The game lived up to the hype, as the Rebels were able to knock off LSU, 32-24, in Lane Kiffin‘s return to Oxford.
Getting the win was huge for the Rebels, but there is no time to be content or excited for the Rebels, as live in the SEC never stops.
Up next for the Rebels is a road game against an undefeated Florida team that has looked great under first-year coach Jon Sumrall. Ole Miss was in the game of the week in Week 3, and Herbstreit believes that the matchup with the Gators in Week 4 is also the game of the week.
“This is life in the SEC,” Herbstreit said on the Pat McAfee Show. “People can say whatever they want; the reality is, Ole Miss played in the game of a lifetime, and now, they have a bigger game this week and a more challenging game this week going to ‘The Swamp’. Florida is playing out of their mind. They’re putting up points that would make Steve Spurrier proud.”
Just like the Rebels last week, the Gators have been waiting for an opportunity like this for quite some time. Running back Jadan Baugh is one of the best running backs in the country, and the Gators have an elite wide receiver corps featuring Dallas Wilson and Vernell Brown III.
This game may not have quite the hype of last week, but this could end up being a tougher actual football game for the Rebels. Pete Golding did a good job of having his team ready and composed for the Tigers, and he will have to do that again in Week 4.
