Kirk Herbstreit offers behind-the-scenes look at broadcast booth in final seconds of Texas vs. Ohio State

Miraculous, dramatic, unexpected, stunning…all words that could be used to describe Texas’ fourth-quarter comeback win over Ohio State on Saturday night.
The Longhorn faithful were treated to a 24-23 victory after their team rallied from a 20-point deficit in the game’s final frame, prompting some wild scenes in Austin.
And those energetic reactions extended to the broadcast booth, as ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit provided a behind-the-scenes look via social media of how he and play-by-play commentator Chris Fowler reacted to the contest’s final moments.
The video clip includes Fowler’s call of the final play followed by Herbstreit –a former Ohio State quarterback– shaking his head in disbelief and exclaiming “wow” over and over.
“This is what college football is all about,” Herbstreit said. “The emotions of the game, the way it goes back-and-forth…”
Herbstreit went on to address Texas fans themselves, expressing how impressed he was with the Longhorns’ comeback effort and the developement they displayed as the game progressed.
“They [Texas] really grew throughout this game,” Herbstreit said. “If you’re a Texas fan, you just watched your team grow.”
The Longhorns will look to continue growing when they host UTSA next Saturday, while a date with Tennessee in Knoxville looms the following week.
Ohio State will hope to rebound when it welcomes Kent State to the Horseshoe on Saturday.
