Kirk Herbstreit is due for some hilarious reactions to Pat McAfee’s antics on ESPN’s “College GameDay” as the popular pregame show officially announced the hiring of the entertainer.

ESPN announced that McAfee, who made appearances on GameDay in recent years, will be an analyst as part of a new multi-year agreement with ESPN. McAfee will now be a full-time member of the popular pregame show, beginning this Saturday in Austin, Texas before the Alabama-Texas game. McAfee has become a media star in recent years and, about 9 months ago, agreed to a lucrative deal with FanDuel on terms reported to be 4 years and $30 million a year. McAfee has also appeared at WWE events.

McAfee, who previously appeared on GameDay in 2019 and 2020, will also contribute to ESPN’s coverage of The Rose Bowl Game, and the College Football Playoff semifinals and national championship.

As part of a separate agreement with Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions, McAfee will host six college football alternate telecasts this season produced by Omaha in collaboration with ESPN. The first telecast is planned for Saturday, Oct. 1 on ESPN2 (game TBD).

“Well. Well. Well. My man (Pat McAFee) is officially joining (College GameDay) starting THIS SATURDAY in Austin! This is gonna be a wild ride-big fella welcome to the team-we cannot wait to see you and get started in Austin. Welcome aboard!”
