Kirk Herbstreit joined the Paul Finebaum Showย to discuss what he thinks about the Crimson Tide and Gators after a thrilling conference game.

While Herbstreit mentioned how great the game was to watch, he did have some concerns for Alabama after how they played.

โ€œThereโ€™s some concerns with Alabama,โ€ Herbstreit said, per 247Sports. โ€œAfter the first couple weeks, we all wanted to say, โ€˜Put them in the championship. Itโ€™s Nick Saban. Itโ€™s Alabama. It doesnโ€™t matter who is on the roster. Theyโ€™re in.โ€™ But going to Florida, theyโ€™ve moved offensive linemen around. Youโ€™ve got one returning starter at the same position he played.”

Florida was able to move the ball pretty well against Alabama. Emory Jones had 195 yards passing. As a whole, the team rushed for 245 yards when it was all said and done.

โ€œFlorida is a lot better than I thought,โ€ Herbstreit said. โ€œMan, Dan Mullenย can coach. Based off the performances that we saw from Emory Jonesย in the first two weeks, I had serious doubts about if they had enough balance to move the ball against Alabama. Dan Mullen proves once again that whether itโ€™s a throwing quarterback like Kyle Traskย or more of a dual-threat quarterback like what he had in Nick Fitzgeraldย in Mississippi State, he figures out ways to move the ball. And he deserves a lot of credit.”

Herbstreit noted that he’s no longer as certain about Georgia winning the SEC East after Florida’s performance against Alabama.

โ€œIโ€™m fired up to see how the SEC plays out this year,โ€ Herbstreit said.
