KJ Bolden and the Georgia Bulldogs are the No. 1 team in college football after earning an impressive 20-17 road victory at Alabama. It was the latest chapter in the incredible rivalry, as the game came down to the final minutes.
The most talked-about and controversial play from Saturday’s game was a non-pass interference call against the Bolden (No. 4) that would have given Alabama a new set of downs in Georgia territory.
Here’s the play in question:
Instead of pass interference, nothing was called. One play later, Georgia sacked Alabama QB Keelon Russell to drive the Crimson Tide out of field goal range.
During an interview with WSB’s Zach Klein on Monday, Bolden admitted he would have wanted the call if the roles were reversed.
“I’m not going to lie… if they did that to us, I’d want them to call pass interference,” Bolden said.
Later in the game, the Bulldogs were able to run the clock out after Alabama’s defensive back Dijon Lee Jr. was called for a personal foul that allowed Georgia to end the game.
Bolden has been a key to the Georgia defense since he got on campus, and is a huge reason why the Bulldogs defense is so good. Through five games, he has 22 tackles and one interception.
The Bulldogs will be back in action in Week 7 when they host Auburn.
