If you watched the Purdue-Villanova second-round NCAA Tournament game, you instead were treated to the Carsen Edwards show.

The Purdue point guard put up a whopping 42 points, making nine of his 16 attempts from three-point range as the Boilermakers mopped the floor with the defending national champions.

Now, Purdue will take on Tennessee in the Sweet 16, and Tennessee G Lamonte Turner says Edwards won’t be scoring 42 points on the Vols (via 247Sports):

“I expect him to try to come out and get 42 again, or 50, but it ain’t gonna happen,” Turner said. “I’m gonna … you know, I’m taking it personally to come out and take on that matchup, and I’m looking forward to it.

“He’s a good player. I’ve watched him this year, and we played Purdue last year in the Bahamas and I was matched up with him. He’s a good player. I know he can really score the ball, so I’m really excited about that matchup.

“I know they’re gonna give it (that matchup) to me, because I’m gonna ask for it. It’s gonna be a good game.”

Edwards led the Big Ten in scoring this season, and he always has the green light to shoot, so he’ll be dangerous.

However, if Turner, Jordan Bone and others can slow him down and hold him to under 20 points, the Vols will have a great chance to win.
