Lane Kiffin defends Texas A&M’s poor 2nd half vs. Kentucky: ‘That doesn’t define who the team is’

LSU’s Week 3 loss to the Ole Miss Rebels is now firmly in the rearview mirror, and first-year head coach Lane Kiffin and his staff have turned their attention to a critical Week 4 matchup against the Texas A&M Aggies.
The Aggies also lost their Week 3 game against the Kentucky Wildcats after a devastating second-half collapse, and their College Football Playoff hopes could now be on the line this Saturday in Death Valley.
Kiffin previewed the matchup during his Wednesday afternoon teleconference call, and Aggies’ insider Carter Karels said that the Bayou Bengals’ head coach made it known he isn’t looking past A&M just because they played 1 bad half of football.
Like LSU, Texas A&M entered the new season with legitimate SEC and national championship aspirations, and they remain a very talented squad despite their letdown against the Wildcats.
Kiffin understands this reality, and he doesn’t seem to be letting himself or his team look past the Aggies just because they got caught napping against a sneaky-good Kentucky squad.
If anything, that loss has made Texas A&M a more dangerous opponent, as Saturday’s game against the Tigers has essentially become a must-win scenario if they want a realistic shot at getting back to the CFP by season’s end.
