The Lane Kiffin era at LSU will officially kick off on Sept. 5th in Death Valley when the Tigers welcome Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers to town for the second leg of a home-and-home series.
The Bayou Bengals bested their fellow Tigers on the road in a top-10 showdown during Week 1 this past season, and now they’ll have the opportunity to complete the sweep at home to secure Kiffin’s first win in the purple and gold.

Vegas recently released an early betting line for the highly anticipated rematch, with LSU as an early favorite at 10.5 points. Kiffin saw this and, in typical fashion, took to social media to dispel the early line as rat poison.
The phrase that Kiffin used here is something he undoubtedly picked up from his former boss Nick Saban, who was very fond of using it whenever the media hyped one of his teams up a little too much for his liking.
The emoji formatting is a bit different from when Saban first popularized the saying, but the sentiment is still the same. The game is still a little over 7 months away, but it’s very clear that Kiffin isn’t going to let his team buy into any outside hype.
